Ill Rymz starts off by showing off the new stage for the gala series, after which we pay a tribute to Goldie.
He invites the judges on-stage and asks them their take on the new stage and their expectations for tonight and hence forth to which Yinka says ‘let the show begin’. Jeffery says he hopes they are like victorious like Obama and Femi says he expects the Maximum. Then he introduces guest judge, Ill Bliss who says he is elated to be there.
Next Ill Rymz introduces all 12 contestants and shows us what they’ve been up to.
First contestant up stage is Vicci singing Trey Songz ‘Heart attack’ for which Jeffery said he did a good job but he didn’t think the song was okay for him. Ill Bliss said though, he wasn’t blown away, it was a good performance. Femi simply wasn’t impressed or entertained enough. His voting number is 507.
Safeeyat is next performing Beyoncé’s ‘Best thing I never had’ for which Yinka said ‘I believe you are ready. Give everything. Well done’. Jeffery said she did a good job but he was waiting to be blown off his chair. Femi gave a pass mark and Ill Bliss expected more sass. Her voting number is 502.
Immaculate Victoria sings ‘Pretty girl rock’ by Keri Hilson. A performance Ill Bliss called off the hook. He also loved her energy and swag. Yinka loved her tone but she wished she’d shake everyone next week. Jeffery and Femi said it was a wrong song choice. Her voting number is 511.
Next is Jay Feel, with Taio Cruz ‘Dynamite’. Femi called his performance great. Ill Bliss called it a very explosive performance. Jeffery Daniel called his, the strongest performance of the evening. His voting number is 524.
Dani Angus sand ‘Best I never had’ by John Legend. Yinka said he brought a certain maturity to singing. Ill Bliss was impressed. Femi said he has an ability to pitch and acclimatise himself to the song. His voting number is 512.
Kome sang Rihanna’s ‘Only girl in the world’. Yinka called her performance a fair try. Jeffery said the energy of the performance kept dropping. Ill Bliss said she didn’t tear the house down unfortunately. Femi said she didn’t use her vocal ability. Her voting number is 514.
Debbi Rise performed Alicia Key’s ‘Girl on fire’ for which Yinka said she had earned her votes. Jeffery said she pulled it off and gave it her best. Femi Kuti said she was in control. Her number is 510.
Joe Emmal did Adele’s ‘Rolling in the deep’. Femi Kuti called his performance excellent. Ill Bliss said he could have done better. Yinka said thrill everybody. His voting number is 517
Abasiakan performed Cold Play’s ‘paradise’. Jeffery said it was the wrong song choice especially the beginning. Yinka and Ill Bliss said it was an amazing performance. Femi Kuti said he did very well and be strong. His number is 521.
Amara did ‘Good life’ by One Republic. Yinka said she did very well. Jeffery said this is the best she has ever looked and sounded. Ill Bliss said she looked like she was living the good life. Femi said she glided and took off like a plane. Her voting number is 530.
Moses performed Jessie J’s ‘Domino’. Ill Bliss said Moses made chubby guys looked sexy while looking like a rock star. Yinka said he did amazingly well. Jeffery said tonight he changed from a teddy bear to a grizzly bear. Femi said he connected well with the audience. His voting number is 518.
Efezino did Avril Lavigne’s ‘wish you were here’ for which Yinka thanked and congratulated her. Jeffery said she always transformed herself and he hoped she stayed around long. Femi said he loved the texture of her voice. Ill Bliss said he was absolutely blown away by the texture if her voice. Her voting number is 528.
