Born Shawn Corey Carter in Brooklyn, New York, Jay-Z is one of the most successful Hip Hop artists of all time. Jay-Z's first commercial success came in 1998 with the release of Hard Knock Life (Ghetto Anthem). Further successful tracks included Big Pimpin and 99 Problems, as well as countless collaborations with artists such as Alicia Keys and Linkin' Park. To this day, Jay-Z has sold over 50million albums and received 10 GRAMMYs. He is also known for his business ventures such as his clothing label Rocawear and his record label Roc-A-Fella, as well as co-owning a New York nightclub and basketball team.
