Glamour's Beauty Writer Sarah Jossel was invited to the Topshop HQ to hang out with the gang. And this is #WhatSarahSaw
As I stepped out the lift on the 4th floor it's safe to say I knew I had arrived. Jumbo-sized shots of Jourdan Dunn were on the walls, rails of Topshop tagged clothes were dotted around and Kate Phelan, Hannah Murray, Anatole Rainey and Anthony Turner were deep in conversation about Sunday's show. I was welcomed into a room to see Topshop's makeup consultant Hannah Murray painting on a plum lip, mane master Anthony Turner sipping an almond milk latte (his go-to drink for fashion week), and nail expert Anatole Rainey mixing and matching polish shades.
The Facts
- The test started at 10am.
- Hannah Murray had 3 hours sleep thanks to NYFW jetlag. She told us "I carry white teabags and Green & Blacks chocolate in my kit wherever I go."
- Hairstylist Anthony Turner had just got off the red-eye from NYFW and to say he was tired would be an understatement - but he was still smiling and laughing in true Turner style.
- Vital Ingredient salads were on the menu for lunch.
The Look
Turner went for a side braid with fluffy textured flyaways and Murray was trying out a dark hue lip with paired down skin and minimal eye makeup. "The Topshop girl has to be real. You'll never see a haunted, ethereal look at this show," said Murray. "It can sometimes be difficult to get the look right, as we want them to apear as if they haven't tried too hard."
And just as I started snapping the final look, this happened: "Hannah and Anthony come in here," called Kate Phelan. A model had just walked into the casting with barely-there makeup and just-washed hair. And like that, the entire look changed (with only 48 hours to go...)
On the Day
Makeup: "Think Margot Tenenbaum, a rebellious school girl with attitude," said Murray of the liner-heavy look. There's a bit of darkness about her but she's gorgeous and all the girls want to be her."

Hair
"It's all changed," said Turner of the new, simple styles. "We're smoothing in L'Oreal Professionnel Pli, blowdrying hair and adding a little oomph at the crown so that it looks lived in."
Nails
Each clique had nails painted in one of three shades. And here I am with the one and only Jourdan Dunn. We both just had our nails done by Anatole himself. It's hard to see but I promise we have the same colour on our nails.
GLAMOUR spies...
New Topshop Cheek Gels! There are 5 shades and they all have matching nail and lip colours. But before you get too excited... you'll have to be patient. They're only out in early October 2014.
