Born Onika Tanya Maraj, Nicki Minaj is a hip hop and R&B recording artist. Minaj began her career with the release of three mixtapes before being discovered by Lil Wayne. Her debut album Pink Friday was released in 2010 and includes the hits Super Bass and Your Love. The same year Minaj made music history by becoming the first artist with seven singles on the Billboard Hot 100 at the same time. Minaj is known for her Barbie-inspired style and her alter egos. She created Nicki Minaj when she was growing up to escape the reality of her chaotic home life.
